TRADITIONAL KOREAN ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture uses hair-thin, single-use, sterile needles to stimulate specific anatomical points on the body called meridians, which have distinct biophysical characteristics that affect bodily function when stimulated, verified by multiple scientific studies in addition to historical oriental practice. Acupuncture restores the smooth flow of ‘Ki’ ( Korean: 기; IPA: [ki]) in the meridians. Acupuncture is nearly pain-free, with the exception of electric acupuncture which electrically stimulates nearby nerves. Generally, needles are left in place for 15 to 30 minutes.

Korean herbal formulas use minimally modified components from various plants, animals, and minerals to treat all nature of diseases. Herbal medicine's compositions are customized to treat each individual patient's specific medical cases. There are hundreds of different herbs that can be used in herbal medicine to various effects for each case.
While herbs are a potent therapy, they exhibit few side effects commonly found in Western pharmaceuticals due to their lower synthetic toxicity and intracompound chemical synergy. Naturally occuring herbal ingredients - whole plants and minimally modified organic materials - contain multiple compounds that offset other compounds.

Serenity Acupuncture & Herb's mission is to provide our patients with an integrated and holistic approach to healing.
BJ Ko, has a Masters Degree from Dongguk University (now DULA) Acupuncture School in Los Angeles (2007), and is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) since 2007 and is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.). B.J. holds a CA L.Ac. license since 2007, and is a Washington Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine Practicioner (WA EAMP) since 2009.
BJ founded Serenity Acupuncture & Herb in 2009 in order to fill a gap in the world of modern medicine practices. Serenity Acupuncture & Herb works to offer an affordable medical service that aids in recovery and any patient's holistic wellbeing.

I have been to Serenity Acupuncture & Herb several times now. I have arthritis and thus chronic pain in my mid and upper back and neck. I have been to Chiropractors, which have been good and have helped some. The problem is, as a veteran with PTSD, I have a lot of muscle tension. A chiropractor can help get things back in place, but as long as the muscles keep pulling due to tension, my spine will keep getting misaligned again soon.
I had never had acupuncture prior to trying Serenity Acupuncture. The physician, who goes by "BJ" is an extremely kind, gracious, and helpful man. He is very accommodating of individual needs, and he is a terrific listener. He cares, and wants to help.
After the sessions I have had with him, my pain has decreased tremendously. His treatment is better than any drug by far - no pills, no addiction, no side affects. I have taken many, many different pills over the years, over the counter and prescription, to help with the problem. This is hands down the best result I have ever had. I had no idea that such a thing could work so well. I have been living with chronic back pain for about a decade. The relief I have gotten so far has been dumbfounding. I am used to being in pain. I keep catching myself being surprised that my back does not hurt.
Treatment is ongoing at this point. I will add to this review in the future if need be. For now, I have found significant relief, and I am extremely grateful.
